Adobe photoshop elements 118/7/2023 It has layers, Auto A-Bunch-Of-Things (as well as manual controls like Levels, yay!) and can easily remove color cast. In this example, red is what I want to keep and purple is to be removed. It works best with higher contrast items, but it does an amazingly good job in my few tests. I like the Magic Extractor which allows for easy selection and extraction of only the elements I want. I am used to looking in different spots for dialog boxes and menus, but once I found them, it makes sense. The Editor is well laid out and easy to navigate as well. But it can give interesting results (although sometimes undesired). The Auto Fix can be a bit wonky and I won’t be relying on it, especially for wedding photos. If I try to Auto Fix a RAW file it will ask me if I want to make a JPEG, TIFF, PNG or Photoshop file from it and then stack them together. I like that there are simple fixes available on the right so as to not need to launch the Editor. The Organizer is vital to navigating photo folders no matter where they are. They do what they say and work well together. There are essentially two parts to the program: The Editor and the Organizer. If you use iPhoto or Picasa now, you’ll probably like Elements more. To that point, there are features that I consider fun and useful for the average photographer. Controls are more simple than in Photoshop CS and that is a good thing, because this product is listed at $100 and targeted to the hobby photographer. It’s taking me a little time to get used to the interface but I am liking it so far. I have been using Photoshop proper for at least a decade and Lightroom since it came out. I have received the copies you get when you buy a new camera but I have never installed it. This is my first time using Elements, ever. It’s been hard so far to pull back from full scale Photoshop CS or even Lightroom, but I’m finding this middle of the road program packs a punch for average or even semi-advanced users. Then just click and drag on your image to create the shape as another layer in your document.Photoshop Elements 11 received a complete redesign by the folks at Adobe and they sent me a copy to try out. When you choose the Adobe Photoshop Elements shape tool you can choose the required shape from the options in the control bar at the bottom of the screen. If you want to put a shape of colour in the background in Adobe Photoshop Elements we need to choose the correct shape tool from the tool bar on the left hand side. You will now have your cutout image on its own layer in your new document. Next we are going to go back to our original image with the selection made and go to Edit>Copy, then over to the new blank document and go to Edit>Paste. Once you are happy with this selection in Adobe Photoshop Elements we are going to make a new document to copy this image in to by going to File>New.įrom this window you can make the document the correct size, you can choose inches, mm or cm etc whichever is more relevant, if you are going to print the document make sure the resolution is set to 300 pixels/inch to achieve the best quality print output from Adobe Photoshop Elements. Once you are all the way round the image back to near where you started you can double click the mouse and this will complete the selection in Adobe Photoshop Elements and you will see the selection running around your image. If the tool goes to an incorrect place you can press the backspace or delete key on your keyboard and it will step backwards one step, keep pressing the key until you get to a point you are happy with then move forward again. If it does not go exactly where you want it to go you can click the mouse and it will stick to wherever you have clicked.
